SBIR/STTR Services

The SBIR/STTR Assistance Center at Missouri University of Science and Technology provides services to individuals designed to help companies understand the Small Business Innovation Research program and improve their competitiveness to secure federal research and development funds. Our business counselors help clients choose appropriate federal agencies and their solicitations, assist in preparation and review proposals, offer partnership opportunities, and continue efforts to commercialize the technology.

Some of the services we offer:

  • Commercialization planning - define how you will market your products by examining market needs, outcomes, competition, intellectual property and revenue streams.
  • Agency identification and evaluation - assist you to find the best agency and opportunity for your product or service.
  • Agency contact networking - provides updated information on agency needs and locates the program managers for each agency.
  • Proposal preparation support and review - assist applicants with proposal review, revisions, and final proposal preparation.
  • University access - assist you to find a technical expert at the university to become part of the proposal team and to assist you with obtaining research agreements and technology transfer.

Through the support from Center partners, other business assistance services are available to individuals interested in developing innovations and moving their technologies to market.  For more information about our services, please contact Malcolm Townes at (573) 341-7616 or email us.
